Dinghy Davit Load Calculator

Hull weight is only the beginning. Add the motor, fuel, equipment and lifting gear to estimate the load your davits actually carry.

How to use the result

The calculator adds the masses you enter; it does not certify a lifting system. The result should include everything that remains aboard while lifted, including fuel, battery, anchor, rode, wheels, electronics, covers and the bridle itself.

Do not treat the davit's marked capacity as a target. Dynamic loads rise when the yacht pitches, attachment geometry can reduce capacity, and ratings may apply only to a particular installation. Confirm the complete system—davits, backing structure, falls, lifting points and tender—with the relevant manufacturers or a qualified marine professional.

Continue with the ready-to-use weight method, compare candidates in the model comparison tool, and read the important limitations.
