This is a completely separate market with a completely separate buyer. If the parent yacht has a tender garage or a passerelle crane, davit weight stops being the governing constraint and propulsion safety, finish and integration take over. It is generally the wrong answer for a 38–45 ft liveaboard sailing yacht.
What decides this purchase
- Jet propulsion removes exposed propellers — the usual reason superyachts specify it.
- Garage dimensions, not length overall, determine the shortlist.
- Diesel jet variants exist where the parent vessel carries no petrol.
- Expect a dealer-serviced ownership model rather than DIY maintenance.
